Freelance-translator in language combinations German-Spanish-English.

 

03/1978 – 01/2004

TUI-Service (TUI Group) Hannover, Germany.

Biggest tour-operator worldwide. Working at destinations Spain (Gran Canary Island, Tenerife, Costa Brava, Mallorca) and Cuba. Duties: Tourist Guide and Representative with all duties concerning service and customer care, including all sorts of administrative tasks. Also, several seasons as secretary of the Director of Destination, including all sorts of office-work, correspondence in German, Spanish and English. Translations at police, hospitals, doctors, governmental offices, etc. concerning clients´ service. Translation of TUI Credit-Contract for hotels from German into Spanish.

During this period I achieved diplomas for Spanish and German and started doing translations as a second income.

 

09/1977 – 03/1978

6 months´ stay in a Spanish family to improve my knowledge of Spanish. At the same time, I taught German and English at Berlitz-School for Languages in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (basic level).

 

09/1976 – 06/1977

 

Intertrade Import-Export, Salzburg, Austria. Import department, responsible for a group of textile articles imported from China, including design, order, money-order, transport and timelines and receipt of merchandise. Correspondence all in English.

 

08/1974 – 09/1976
